My Mind

Personal website of M.G. Daniel. Sharing poetry, my writings, snippets from my life and whatever's on my mind.

Meanwhile, weeds sprout hope
On the arid earth
Where we once stood
And buried a romance
Under mounds of goodbyes,
And grow, and nourish
On the remnants
Of that antique
Of our race, love,
And die.

Meanwhile, I stroll
With silent time
Through cities,
Shopping for companions,
Gazing through cold
Snooty show windows,
Loneliness mirrored
In their mocking glass,
Haunting me.

Meanwhile, I wonder
How my heart would race
The mute time
If I suddenly saw you
In the crowd,
Perhaps like…
We were before,
I remember

Young, hermit crabs
Feeling cautiously,
Slowly, timid snails
Withdrawing sharply
Each time we touched
Too deep.
