But the silence was all I had.
Like a precious artifact,
Slipping through a toddler’s hands,
He broke it,
Shattering it with the soft tone of his voice,
As he said that today,
Someone will find out
that the person they are living for, is dying.
I bought this book long ago from one of Canada’s top spoken word performers, Dwayne Morgan. I finally read it. It’s full of wise words and is a good read. The title “Live Like You Were Dying” is from one of the standout poems and is explained at the end of that poem; Mr. Morgan can be found performing it on YouTube.
